2010 is our 4th year of putting on social line-dances to live music at The Fleet in Fletton, Peterborough. We know from your very kind messages that you enjoy your evenings with us and we hope you will continue so to do. We have been able to book several of the artists you have requested and also made a couple of other changes we thought appropriate from your suggestions.

We finished 2009 on a real high with our good friends the Thrillbillies giving us a great nights entertainment. Dave and Ed will be back with us when they open our new year in January 2011.

One of the really pleasing aspects of putting on socials is the opportunity to meet and greet friends both old and new, and from both sides of the footlights. Particularly pleasing also is to see the dances that are being taught both at the Fleet and our classes in Whittlesey and Coates danced. We made a concious decision to include some of these in our interval disco and have a good response from yourselves. We also decided not to include any music brought in to the dance as we found these were becomng almost demo dances and that's not what we wanted.

This year we've been invited to be part of a new venture at The Parkway Club, here in Peterborough. It's been several years since we've danced at what was then the Railway Club when Dollar Bill was at the helm. The first gig was on January 10th with, for me, 2 of the nicest people you're ever likely to meet  providing the entertainment: Fools Gold. Next up at The Parkway will be Lass Vegas. A gig list is available from the Parkway or from myself on any dance night you bump in to us or drop us a line and I'll mail you details. 

For our regulars who join us for disco nights at Coates Public Hall we now have 4 dates for your diaries. These events are for when there's nothing else in the diary locally so we hope you can join us. The dates are Friday April 23rd, Saturday July 24th, Saturday October 16th and, of course, The New Year's Eve Disco. It would be great to see you there but please give us a call if you're coming along as numbers are limited.

Booking of acts to appear for 2011 has now commenced with The Thrillbillies opening the year for us and Glen Douglas filling the February slot. MT Allen and Paul Bailey will also be included in the calendar. Seems these days that you have to book earlier than ever in order to secure the artists you want. All the dates for 2010 are now on the site with one amendment from the original schedule due to Tony Rouse no longer being available. Instead we have a brand new duo to the circuit, The Westons.

Our last event at the Fleet was The Westons. New to the circuit as a duo old hands in previous guises. A very professional performance, entertainers as well as muscians which means dancers and listeners alike had a great time. Our next dance at The Fleet on Friday 6th August is with an old friend, Dane Stevens, who's been entertaining us for many years with his easy style of country music. Hopefully you are able to join us.
